The house is falling apart, the kids are sick, you’re working extra hours at work and you can’t think straight because you’ve been sleeping 5 hours most nights….sound familiar?
Now you’re feeling guilty because you’ve just grabbed a cookie and your pants are tighter. You know you need to do something and you can’t even imagine where to fit the time in to process all the new information here or in Eat to Live.
Planning to change your eating or start a new exercise program is overwhelming if you’re trying to juggle so many things and fit in some time to plan it all out.
Here’s a suggestion…BREATHE! Yep take a deep breath and keep reading. If you can’t overhaul your diet right now try what I’m going to suggest here if you’re aiming to adopt a nutritarian lifestyle or eat better overall.
1) everyday aim to eat one pound of raw veggies…veggie sticks before dinner, a huge salad for lunch, veggies as a snack!
2) everyday aim to eat one pound of steamed/cooked veggies…fill your plate with veggies then have whatever else as the sides. Try to make a huge pot of veggie soup and have that for lunch instead!
3) everyday eat 4 servings of fruit. If fruit isn’t your thing try smoothies. Have fruit for dessert. Be creative!
Each day have all these items no matter what else is going on. That’s it! If you still have the craving or the temptation to eat the cookie then don’t do it until you’ve had all your fruits and veggies for the day.
That’s it! Don’t remove or change anything else. Just start there then see what happens.
Let me know if you’re struggling. I’ve had my ups and downs too! I had my hopeless times and I’m pretty sure that if I hadn’t kept eating primarily a nutritarian diet I probably would have been very ill or wouldn’t have been able to deal with very stressful situations without crashing.
